Top Five Category Finalists Announced For The 17th Annual ICM Awards

(August 31, 2011) –The ICM Faith, Family & Country Awards Top 5 finalists were announced today in 22 key categories  advancing the presentation of the 17th Annual Inspirational Country Music Awards in award ceremonies to be held on Friday, October 28th at Nashville’s Schermerhorn Symphony Center.

The ICM Faith, Family & Country Top 5 ballot, as determined by first round membership voting by the members of the Inspirational Country Music Association, includes a stellar array of major names in a broad cross section of categories that include entertainer, new artist, song, songwriter, group, duo,  musician, radio, radio station, film, television honors and more.

Major artist nominees on the Top 5 ballot for this year’s  ICM Faith, Family & Country Awards  include Carrie Underwood, Lady Antebellum,  The Band Perry, Ronnie Dunn, The Roys,  Josh Turner, Jeff Bates, Randy Travis, The Grascals,  Ricky Skaggs, The Oak Ridge Boys, Point of Grace, Guy Penrod, The Isaacs, and George Strait.  Film honors finalists  include a competitive field highlighted by family rated major box office contenders including Country Strong, Secretariat, and The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.

Top 5 finalists in all categories will now be presented to the membership in final round voting that will end on September 30th. Awards will be announced at the October 28th awards presentation.

General Tommy Franks (Ret.), Charlie Daniels, Wynonna, Montgomery Gentry and The Grascals for ‘Operation Yellow Ribbon’

NASHVILLE (Feb. 23, 2011) – On March 29th, Lipscomb University will welcome General Tommy Franks (Ret.), Charlie Daniels, Wynonna, Montgomery Gentry and The Grascals to Lipscomb University’s Allen Arena for ‘Operation Yellow Ribbon’, an annual event created to raise awareness and funds for Lipscomb University’s


Yellow Ribbon Program. The event, “An Inspiring Evening of Stories and Songs,” will feature General Tommy Franks (Ret.) as the keynote speaker and hosting the evening will be popular television and radio personality, Storme Warren.

Tickets for the ‘Operation Yellow Ribbon’ Event are now on sale for $10 and are available for purchase at all Middle Tennessee Daily’s stores, and at the Lipscomb University box office (615.966.7075). Members of the military and their families will be invited as guests of the events’ corporate sponsors. All proceeds from the event benefit Lipscomb University’s Yellow Ribbon Program, which offers eligible Post 9/11 GI Bill veterans and their family members an undergraduate degree tuition-free or a graduate degree tuition-free or at a greatly reduced tuition rate.


The ‘Operation Yellow Ribbon’ Event is sponsored by Daily’s, iostudio, Military System Group, ADS, Spirit Broadband, Tennessee Commerce Bank, and Tennessee National Guard.

MUSIC COMMUNITY GATHERS TO SUPPORT THE GRASCALS & DOLLY PARTON IN RAISING AWARENESS FOR CHILDHOOD CANCER

Nashville, TN – In a rare occasion of combined efforts, Nashville’s music community is gathering is support of “I AM STRONG,” a song drawing awareness to the childhood cancer epidemic.

Two versions of “I AM STRONG” have been recorded. Version 1 includes award-winning, Grammy-nominated group, The Grascals, with special guest Dolly Parton. Version 2 includes The Grascals, Dolly Parton, Randy Owen, Joe Nichols, Darryl Worley, Terri Clark, Charlie Daniels, Tom T. Hall, The Oak Ridge Boys and Steven Seagal.

A music video was directed by cancer survivor David Corlew of d. corlew films and is already gaining much notoriety at AOL.com, TheBoot.com and Yahoo.com. Starting January 4th, Clear Channel Digital and Citadel Digital will be hosting the video on the homepage of all their country radio station websites. Steve Baker of Visual Image Marketing is handling promotion of the video to video outlets both online and broadcast.
