(Monday, April 18, 2011) – Capitol Records Nashville’s Darius Rucker is no stranger to success, but this week he has reached a milestone that he never dreamt would be possible: his fifth chart-topping single.  “This,” the second single from his 2010 release Charleston, SC 1966, is currently #1 on bothBillboard and MediaBasecharts.

“When we set out to record this album, we tried to choose songs that would mean something to the fans,” says Rucker.  “The single, “This,” was a song I never thought would be a single, but that just shows you the power of the fans because they were the ones requesting it, downloading it, and playing it for their friends.  It’s their support that has made my career in country music possible.”

Rucker Returns to Letterman and H2O Frozen Over Tour in 2011


Nashville, Tenn. (Tuesday, January 18, 2011) – Capitol Records Nashville’s Darius Rucker started this week in Nashville with a video shoot at the historic Ryman Auditorium for his new single, “This,” from his sophomore album Charleston, SC 1966—a song he will also perform when he makes his return to Late Show with David Letterman this Wednesday, January 19. Rucker will end the week returning to the H2O Frozen Over Tour with Brad Paisley in Green Bay, Wisconsin at the Resch Center on Thursday, January 20.

Rucker recently described his feeling of acceptance into the country music family in Parade Magazine, “I see why people see it as a reinvention, but I don’t feel like I was doing anything that different. For me, it was just getting to do something I wanted to do. It honestly felt like a natural evolution of my career.”
