Welcome, to Raised Country!
Post your personal tall tales of growing up in the country. Maybe you didn't grow up in the country! That's OK! You just need a memorable experience in a rural setting (e.g., summers on Grandpa's farm). All we ask is that you make it clean enough for a broader audience, and that it be at least 70% true! Just click on the "Tell Your Tall Tale!!!" link on the right under Menu, and tell us your tale!
Your story may be among those we choose to publish in an anthology of the best stories!

“Christmas at the Moore household (5 kids, Mom and Dad, two dogs and lots of cats and kittens) was always filled with sing-along music on the stereo or radio, marvelously scented candles and at times – uncontrollable laughter. My Dad and I were the ‘official’ tree-trimming team and I cherished the one-on-one time with him. He would string the lights and let me be creative with the placement of all the colorful and varied ornaments he and Mom had collected over the years. Once we were satisfied, we’d invite the rest of the family into the living room for a special tree-lighting ‘ceremony.’ In keeping with this family tradition, I collect Christmas ornaments from my various travels overseas. So far, I have delightful ones from Germany, Italy, France, Spain, Greece, Switzerland, Ireland and England.”

“Christmas at the Hickman’s was always a memorable time of year for us. The importance of traditions is something my mother tried to instill in me and my sister Sadie.

“I have been blessed to have nothing but fond memories of Christmas throughout my entire life. Having been born and raised in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, “The Christmas City,” has always made those memories that much more special.
